Do You Wonder About Where to Park for Grace Church Events?

You may know that Grace Church owns the parking lot to the west of the church, bordered by Snow and Chapel Streets, but knowing the best place(s) to park for parish events may not be as simple as it seems. That's because we rent the lot to a parking lot management firm that pays rent to the church and, in turn, charges a fee for parking during much of the week. Here's how it works:

  • On Sunday mornings, the Grace Church lot is available for worshipers. If this lot is full, you may also park for free in the lot on the northwest corner of Westminster Street and Snow Street. Please note that the lot directly across from the Grace Church lot, on the west side of Snow Street, is operated by a different operator, so it's best to avoid this lot.
  • The church's parking lot is also reserved for a limited number of evening events, such as the annual Silent Auction and the Easter Vigil service.
  • At other times, nine spaces are available for free when visiting the church. If you are conducting church business during the week, please tell the attendant that you are going into Grace Church. The church owes a fee to the parking lot manager when it uses more than allotted spaces. On some evenings and Saturday mornings when there are no downtown events schedules, the parking lot may be unattended, but you may park in it when visiting the church.
  • For special services, such as weddings or funerals, families have a choice of two options. the family may rent the entire parking lot for the service at a cost of $250 - $300. Contact Carolina Boyle in the office to make arrangements to rent the parking lot. Otherwise, the lot will charge its normal rental rate for each car. For a midweek daytime service such as a funeral, the fee typically would be $5 per car.
